(the first picture is from when I was in the ICU, the second one is today. 3 blood transfusions and an emergency surgery…plus lots of pain medicine have got me looking almost normal.)
Here’s the story!:
I’ve been in the hospital since Tuesday. It’s been dreadful. I went into outpatient surgery to have my gallbladder removed Tuesday morning. It went perfect. A few hours after I got home, I couldn’t move without it hurting extremely bad. Ended up back in the ER via ambulance after passing out 3x. (My face is bruised from where I hit the floor) Apparently when my friend tried to pick me up I went completely limp, dead eyes, pale, blue lips, and cold. It took my friend 5 minutes of slapping me and shaking me to get me to wake up. When I opened my eyes there were 5 paramedics surrounding me and I was utterly confused. I was put in ICU for 2 days. I lost over half my blood due to internal bleeding. Wednesday night I went in for emergency surgery because my blood count kept dropping and I wasn’t doing any better. They removed a liter and a half of blood from my abdomen. Talk about ouch! No wonder it hurt to breathe and move. I was released from ICU Thursday morning and here it is Friday. I am getting my third blood transfusion in the past few days and being released tomorrow. I’m still in pain and feeling light headed a lot, but this transfusion should do the trick. Doc said 1 pint of blood isn’t going to put me back at a normal blood count, but it will help me not feel as fatigued. It’s been a rough week to say the least.
